Chemical and active pharmaceutical ingredients are frequently processed as powders, so that, after the reaction, a crystallization of the solution and subsequent separation of solid and liquid materials are necessary. For technical application DeDietrich Process Systems offers high-quality filter/dryers of the highest requirement class and for pilot plant facilities the ROLAB, a filter/dryer optimized for manual operation.

In close cooperation with ROSENMUND®, QVF has developed Nutsche filters made from borosilicate glass for application in the KiloLab. This device has allowed the fulfilment of special customer requests and unusual procedure demands.

Nutsche filter with heatable double jacket in glass
In this version the filter body can be lowered and swung away, in order to discharge the product comfortably. The agitator unit is mechanically lowered and raised and driven by a compressed air motor. The Nutsche filter was built into an existing rack (the picture shows the transport rack).

Noncorrosive Nutsche filter

In the version shown the product only contacts the PTFE and the borosilicate glass. The base with the filter cloth can be lowered for filter cloth change. The product is discharged by the user friendly quick release fastener.

Nutsche filter for light-sensitive products
For the protection of light-sensitive products the filter container is provided with a brown glass double jacket, which serves at the same time for controlling the temperature of the filter volume. The cover is lifted with a hoisting gear and can be laterally swung out. This equipment also insures that the product only contacts the PTFE and the borosilicate glass. For cleaning PTFE spray nozzles are provided.

Nutsche filter for the ATEX-area
This device is fully non-corrosive and designed for the application with non-conductive materials in the EX-zone. Because of the use of dissipative PTFE and the dissipative glass coating patented by QVF, there is no accumulation of charge that takes place. The filter/dryer can be easily dismantled by the use of C-clamps for cleaning according to GMP regulations. The dissipative PTFE possesses an FDA certification.

Nutsche filter with hoisting gear
This filter is comparable with the ATEX-version regarding its floor construction and the easy assembly. However this version additionally requires the lifting and swivelling of the cover with hoisting device. The product connections are equipped with quick-connectors. The constructional design for DN450 (picture on the right) and DN600 (picture in the centre) is similar. The picture on the left shows the height adjustable agitator and the glass jacket with CE-marking.

The development of the glass-lined filter/dryer occurred because of close cooperation between De Dietrich GlassLined and ROSENMUND VTA AG, in the same manner that QVF and ROSENMUND® cooperated to develop the range of glass nutsche filters. For further details, please contact our specialists.
